OFX File Step

The OFX File step imports files in OFX format to start a Data Preparation flow using the data from that file. OFX (Open Financial Exchange) stores bank statement data and follows a standard layout.

The OFX File is in the Data Source category of the toolbar. After setting up the preparation with it, you can upload files through the File Upload screen of the Dattos platform.

Importing the OFX file

There are two ways to load the file:

  • Import File: opens the file explorer for you to select the file.

  • Drag and drop: drag the file directly onto the screen.

Import validation: only files with an OFX extension and a maximum size of 50 MB are accepted.

Configuring the step

On the configuration screen, you will find:

  • File information: identifies the name of the imported file.

  • Change File: replaces the imported file when necessary.

  • Name: identifies the name of the step. By default, it uses the name of the imported sample file, but the field is editable.

  • Column Order: shows the default order of the columns in the OFX File step (view only).

  • Column Name: shows the default columns of the OFX File step (view only).

  • Data Type: data type of each column, which can be Alphanumeric, Numeric, or Date (view only).

  • Sample: displays the content of the columns from the first imported row.

Use Close to exit without saving and return to the Designer, or Save to keep the settings.

Tip: choose a name that represents the file information and is easy for you and your colleagues to understand.

Advanced settings

In the advanced settings, you can enrich the sample with extra columns:

  • Add data source name as a column: adds a column to the sample with the name of the step.

  • Add file name as a column: adds a column to the sample with the name of the imported file.

  • Configure Data Preparation

  • Excel File Step

  • Text File Step
