Banking integration via VAN

A banking VAN (Value Added Network) is a communication service between banks and companies for sending and receiving financial files — statements, payment files, collection returns. Instead of maintaining separate connections with each bank, the company exchanges all files through a single channel. On the Dattos platform, VAN is the recommended path when the bank is not available via Open Finance or when the operation is already based on exchanging banking files at scale.

How it works

  • Activation as a service: VAN integration is deployed by the Dattos team. Contact your account manager or support to request activation.

  • Configuration by the implementation team: the team sets up the connection to the VAN and routes the files from your bank accounts.

  • Delivery via the storage method: files sent by banks to the VAN are deposited in a storage integrated with the platform (e.g.: SFTP) and automatically collected by the processes' Source Directory.

  • Automatic receipt: from there, the financial files feed reconciliation and analysis processes — without manual downloads.

When to choose VAN

  • The bank or financial product is not available via Open Finance.

  • The operation involves many banks and a high volume of files (multi-bank statements, collections, payments), and centralizing the exchange in a single channel simplifies the workflow.

  • The company already uses a VAN and wants to take advantage of the existing channel to bring the files to the platform.
