Users and Permissions

User Registration

Dattos was built for teams to work together. Before anyone can access the platform and collaborate on analyses, you must register that person as a user. This is where you define who gains entry, how each one logs in, and what permissions they will have.

Before you begin

To register users, you need access to the Users settings. There is a dependency worth understanding upfront: every user needs at least one privacy profile to navigate and act within the platform. The profile defines what each person sees and does, and you assign it during registration (the final step below).

Creating a new user

  1. Go to Settings (gear icon) → UsersUser Registration.

  2. Click New.

  3. Fill in the user details (described below) and click Save.

Upon saving for the first time, the platform automatically sends an email to the new user with access instructions and a link to create their personal password.

User details

On the registration screen, you provide:

  • User Name: the name that appears in platform activities and notifications. E.g.: Maria Silva.

  • Login: the user's unique access identifier in the system. E.g.: maria.silva.

  • Email: the person's email. Access to the platform can be done via either the login or the email. E.g.: [email protected].

  • Blocked: check this option when you want to suspend a user's access without deleting their registration.

Defining permissions: the privacy profile

After saving the registration, open the Profile tab to choose which privacy profile the user belongs to. The profile defines, for example:

  • which analysis folders they can see;

  • whether they can edit financial analysis settings;

  • whether they have the authority to sign approval levels.

The Profile tab lists all previously registered privacy profiles. Simply select the one that makes sense for this person.

Tip: for internal or external audits, or to monitor the work of another department, create a read-only profile and assign it to these users. Profiles are managed in Settings → Users → Privacy Profiles.
