Privacy profiles
Privacy profiles are how you precisely control what each person can access in Dattos. Instead of configuring permissions user by user, you create a profile (a group of users sharing the same rights) and manage everything from it.
A profile brings together, in one place, which screens the group sees, which analyses they can perform, what they can edit, and which approval levels they are responsible for.
Before you start
Setting up a profile follows three steps, always in this order: you create the profile, define its permissions in the configuration tabs, and assign the users who will inherit them. The sections below follow exactly this sequence.
Creating a privacy profile
Open Configuration (gear icon) → Users → Privacy Profiles.
Click New.
In the Profile Data tab, fill in the name and description, and click Save to unlock the other tabs.
In the Profile Data tab you provide:
Profile Name: the name that appears in permission assignments. E.g.:
Preparadores.Description: a short text explaining the profile's responsibility. E.g.:
Preparadores de análises financeiras.
Configuring profile permissions
After saving, the configuration tabs become available. Each one controls a dimension of the group's access: who participates, which screens they navigate, what they can configure, which folders they see, and which approvals they perform.
Users
In the Users tab, choose which people are part of the profile. All of them will share the permissions configured in the other tabs. The same user can belong to more than one profile.
Important: permissions are cumulative. When a user belongs to more than one profile, they accumulate permissions from all of them. On screens with conflicting levels, the highest permission prevails (Write takes priority over Read).
Screens
The Screens tab defines which pages of the platform the group can navigate. Each screen accepts one of three permission levels:
Write: the user views the page and performs actions on it (importing data, justifying, deleting, commenting, etc.).
Read: the user views the page but does not interact with the action buttons.
None: the user does not view the page.
Configuration Packages
Configuration packages are reusable boxes that separate the logic of an analysis from its execution information. In the Configuration Packages tab, choose which packages the group will be able to view on the configuration screens.
Important: viewing is not editing. To change a configuration, the user needs Write permission on the related screen and also access to the corresponding package. Example: to adjust an Excel reading, they need Write permission on the Import Layouts screen and access to the desired package.
Folders
Folders organize the platform's analyses, so this is where you define what the group sees. In the Folders tab, choose which folders the group will be able to view on the analysis screens. Remember that giving access to a folder does not authorize editing the settings of the analyses within it, and that access to a subfolder always includes the top-level folder (the root).
Approval Levels
The Approval Level tab defines what the group can approve: choose which levels of the approval flows the group can advance or revert. The nomenclature and order of these levels come from the root folder's registration.
There is also an option to reinforce control:
Block multiple approvals: when checked, prevents the same user from approving different levels of a flow within the same reconciliation.
